Why is it Important to Scan Your Photos, Negatives and Slides?
How important is your family’s legacy? You have tons of photos in albums, boxes, and who knows where else. God forbid a catastrophe like a fire, fire aside, what if your neighbor has a fire and you get smoke damage/ All your photos are toast, you lost them. Respect your family’s past and let your kids enjoy what Mom looked like at 15. It’s important to know who you are and where you came from. Yes, this is harsh, but I would rather shake you up a bit than for you to lose your parents’ or great parents’ memories. Call us now, we can help.
Scans From Negatives & Slides
Negative & Slide Film Scanning 35mm, APS (Advantix) & 120 Sizes To USB VDV Or Dropbox Fast Service.
We use a variety of scanners from Noritsu, Nikon, Pacific Imaging, Epson, all depending on the workflow, required results and other factors.
Scanned in our lab on high-resolution scanners for quality by professionals.
Our standard resolution scans from 35 mm negatives will deliver a jpeg file whose size is around 4.5 megabytes (1500x1000px) when opened (uncompressed). These scans are made on our professional scanner. The digital files we return to you are perfect for sharing your pictures digitally, making new prints (up to 6×4″), for inclusion in video and presentation projects and as digital backups.
We offer a high-resolution scanning option. The high-resolution option will deliver a 3-4 MB jpeg file whose size is around 17 megabytes (3000x2000px) when opened (uncompressed). This is the best option to produce large prints up to 12×18″. The difference between a standard-resolution file and a high-resolution file has nothing to do with the quality of the scan but exists only in the size of the file we deliver. Because high-resolution scans can take up to three times as long to complete, the charge is higher than that of standard resolution scans.
Service Time
Sanning is a big job and takes time; scanning for funeral services will be done the same day, if required. Note: As in any photographic process, the digital files from our scans will only be as good as your original film. Note that old or poorly processed film negatives may discolour over the years, which will show on the scans. We do not retouch scans unless ordered to do so.
Slide Film Scans – Kodachrome, Ektachrome, Agfachrome, Fujichrome To USB, DVD, cloud Or Dropbox
35 mm slide shows were one of the most popular ways to enjoy pictures with the family.. If you don’t have access to a projector or if you want to share and enjoy your slides on today’s digital devices with your entire family, bring your slides to Pixl Imaging for slide scans and order copies for everyone. Keep in mind that all those old slides and negatives have a life span, and that time is about now. The not-so-good news is that slides and negatives don’t age well. The type of slide film used, the quality of the processing, and the environment the slides have been stored in all influence the stability of the images. The best option you have for preserving your slides, prints, and negatives is to have Pixl imaging scan them for you and make digital & printed copies of them now.
Service Time:
Scanning is a constant demand for us, and processing time without wait time is about a week, and that depends on the number of items and our backlog. We try to accommodate urgent needs like funerals, memorials, medical, and legal. Just give us a call or email us, and we will do our best to accommodate. All scanning is done on-site in our Lab with meticulous care.
Note: As in any photographic process, the digital files from our scans will only be as good as your original slide film. Note that old or poorly processed film slides may discolour over the years, and this will show on the scans. We do not retouch scans, but we do our best to clean them before scanning. Slides stored in humid climates often have mould on them; image enhancement can be done with a special process.
